MAC in a box :)

Recently i was just browsing the MAC website, as you do, and something popped up telling me that unfortunately the website was not working fully and so i couldn't actually place an order, but if i subscribed by email, they would send me a message when the site was up and running again AND give me a free Haute and Naughty mascara with any purchase. Of course i was going to take advantage of this offer, as that mascara is worth £17.50. So once they sent me an email saying that the website was fixed, i had another look for a while before i found what i wanted to get.

Now one of the things i have to say about the MAC website, is that it is very, very difficult to tell what the colours are like. When you shop at a MAC store, you can swatch the products and try them on, but when your shopping online, you might as well be blind. But luckily i knew that somewhere on the wonderful internet, one lovely blogger would have swatched the colours i was interested in. I decided i wanted a coral/orange lipstick for summer and after looking on the site for a while i discovered Ravishing and once i had seen the swatches, i ordered it.

True to their word, MAC sent me a mascara too, which im not opening yet, as i want to finish my Benefit Bad Gal Lash first. But here are pictures of what they both look like:

As i said, im not opening my Mascara yet but i will do a review once i have used it etc. But onto the lipstick, which is described on the website as : Clean light peachy coral and i think it definitely is, but a bit more orange. The swatch on the website did not put the colour to justice, because it really is a pretty colour which is perfect for summer. It really is a beautiful orangy coral colour, i just cannot wait to wear it with a tan!

Review: Liz Earl Naturally Active Skincare

So before i begin, you should all know that i am not being sponsored by any company to do this review, i bought these products myself and i am giving you my honest opinion on them, i am not being paid and they were not sent to me for free, sadly :P

I have been a fan of the Liz Earl skincare range for many years, as have most of my family. It was my mum who really started everyone onto it, after visiting their store on the Isle of Wight, where my dads parents live. Now my mum, dad, brother, grandparents, uncle, aunts and myself all use their range. Today i am going to review their best seller, The Cleanse and Polish, The Instant Boost Skin Tonic and one of their moisturisers, the Skin Repair Light. Lets start with the big daddy of all their produces, The Cleanse and Polish:

Price: £13.oo for a 100ml pump + 2 muslin cloths

What they say: We only make one cleanser because this formulation is the ultimate in concentrated yet gentle cleansing power and works on every age and skin type. plant-based cleanser has a 2-phase action, phase 1 is the cleansing. Free from mineral oil, it has a rich and creamy texture and swiftly removes all traces of face and eye make-up, even stubborn mascara. Phase 2 is the polishing. Polish off the cream using the pure muslin cloth to help gently dislodge dead skin cells and help reveal clean, soft and radiant skin. Naturally active ingredients include eucalyptus and cocoa butter for smoother, clearer skin.

What i say: I absolutely love this cleanser, i could not be without it! The consistency is fantastic, creamy and nourishing, but not too thick. It smells beautiful, not perfumed just completely natural and i really love the feeling of it on my skin. I do not have a problem with it not removing my makeup, it just wipes away once i have applied this cleanser! The packaging is great with the pump, as it means you can get all of the product out, and you don't have to worry about how much to use, one pump should do you enough. It leaves my skin looking and feeling clean, refreshed and oh-so soft. I recommend this to all of you, whatever your skin type, this is perfect for everyone.

Repurchase? YES! This is probably my 100th bottle anyway, but i will always use this product!

The Instant Boost Skin Tonic
Price: £12 for a 200ml Spritzer

What they say: This heavenly floral-scented, non-drying toner refreshes, soothes and brightens your skin. Gentle and alcohol-free, it also adds a fine layer of moisture. Pour onto a cotton wool pad and sweep over face and neck after using Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. Naturally active ingredients include organic aloe vera to revitalise and soften and calendula, chamomile, cucumber and natural source vitamin E to soothe and refresh the skin.

What i say: is an absolute essential for summer! Its so cooling and smells just beautiful, i spray this onto my face and neck throughout the day to keep my skin hydrated and to cool myself down. It doesn't dry your skin out but just leaves you feeling completely revitalised and ready to take on anything, corny i know, but i honestly couldn't live without this product. If I'm on a plane i take it with me, if I'm ill i will constantly spray it onto me, its just perfect for everyday use and i adore it, especially in the heat!

Repurchase? I love this so much, its a definite yes from me!

The Skin Repair Light
Price: £17.60 for a 50ml pump

What they say: Light and gentle, this easily absorbed moisturising lotion is ideal for combination, oily or problem skin. This finely balanced blend of naturally active skin-conditioning ingredients includes borage oil (a rich source of the essential fatty acid GLA), echinacea, hops, avocado oil, panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) and natural antioxidants beta-carotene and vitamin E to replace lost moisture and help protect your skin, leaving it soft and smooth with a naturally healthy glow. Massage into face and neck, morning and night, after Instant Boost Skin Tonic. Includes borage and avocado to lightly moisturise and balance the skin.

What i say: This is the most expensive of the three products i am reviewing, but i think that it is totally worth it! As a teenager, i have rather oily skin and it can be difficult to find a moisturizer which it not too thick for my skin, but this is the best one i have ever tried. It is light and not greasy, it simply glides onto the skin and sinks in, leaving your face and neck feeling soft and smooth but not over packed with product. It is the perfect base to any foundation and other makeup. If you can afford it, i definitely recommend it. But if your skin is dry or normal, you should check out the other moisturisers, made specially for your types of skin.

Repurchase? Though it may be more expensive that you would like, your skin will benefit from having an all-natural moisturiser and i will definitly be repurchasing this one.

So, as you can see i adore these products, they are available in selected John Lewis, in their stors and online, just search Liz Earl into google! I reccommed you all go and try them out, i promise you will not be dissapointed!

Lots of love
